Pacifique Mongongo Dosa (Goma, 1983) has a Ph.D. in economics: instruments of economic analysis (University of Cantabria, Spain), two master's degrees respectively in Economics (Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium) and Governance and development (University of Antwerp, Belgium). He is currently an associate researcher of the Research Group on Cooperation and Human Development (COIBA chair) of the University of Cantabria in Spain (UC) and an Associate Professor of the Department of Economics of the University of Kalemie (UNIKAL) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The quality of his works in development studies and policies have been recognized by the Spanish Network of Development Studies Award for Young Researchers (2016) and the G-9 (an association of 9 regional public Spanish universities) prize for doctoral theses in development cooperation and education for social transformation (2024). He is pursuing his contribution to development and social transformation in teaching, researching and consultancy where he is mostly needed, mainly in some of the mostly remote areas of Sub-Saharan Africa.
As a local expert for all the higher education and university establishments in the new province of Tanganyika of DRC, for the last three years, he has been contributing to the modernization of the Congolese education system mainly in its new reform and its efforts toward the conformity with the international LMD system.
Currently, he is trying to locally put in place, in conformity with the international standards, a research framework underpinning development teaching and policies especially for promoting the Sustainable Development Goals. The research lines are focused on the bottlenecks of local, national and regional development in both their micro and macroeconomic aspects considering both the formal and informal institutions in place as well as the provincial, national, regional and international political and diplomatic facts. |
